and Mastercard partner to support SMEs in the region

| December 14, 2017 | Our Global Partners

ConnectAmericas, the first social business network in Latin America and the Caribbean, and Mastercard, leading company in payment management, signed a partnership agreement that will benefit small and medium sized companies (SMEs) that aim to grow their businesses internationally.

Thanks to this initiative, the users of the ConnectAmericas and Mastercard Biz portals, as well as companies linked to Mastercard, will have access to the following tools and activities:

  • Business opportunities: ConnectAmericas and Mastercard aim to help SMEs enter global value chains. For this, through the partnership, ConnectAmericas and Mastercard will compile and share purchasing announcements of large companies and governments that entrepreneurs can apply to by completing a simple form with information about their product and company.
  • Financial tools: Mastercard is developing a new virtual payment system specifically designed for international transactions between businesses. Thanks to this collaboration, ConnectAmericas users will have access to this innovative tool through the platform.

Created in 2014 by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to remove internationalization barriers, ConnectAmericas has over 110,000 registered companies that do business from over 160 countries or territories. It is a free virtual social business network for SMEs and entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Follow ConnectAmericas on Twitter @connectamericas, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
